Whole Circle Farm CSA

What is a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a partnership between farmers and consumers where people pay an advance fee in exchange for a share of the farm’s produce. CSA members receive affordable, farm fresh produce, enjoy a direct relationship with the people who grow their food, and have the satisfaction of being part of a healthy local food system.

Whole Circle Farm offers both Summer and Winter CSA programs. The Summer CSA begins when the first Spring crops are ready, usually the third week of June, and lasts until November. Between November and March, Winter CSA members receive weekly boxes of flavourful produce from our root cellar.

How does it work?
When you sign up for your shares, you will select a preferred weekly pick-up day and location. Options include:

Farm Pick Up – Pick up your share on the farm (located between Acton and Rockwood) on Tuesdays 3pm-7pm

Guelph Pick Up – Pick up your share in Guelph (location to be decided) on Tuesdays 3pm-7pm

Georgetown Market Pick Up – Pick up your share at the Georgetown farmers’ market on Saturdays 8am-11am from our farm stand

How much food is in a share?

Whole Circle Farm now offers two share sizes that can be combined to suit your own needs. A Full Share is suited for a family or 2 vegetable loving adults. A Half Share is suited for a small family, couple or a vegetable loving adult. We can generally accommodate subscription changes during the season if you find that your share quantity is more or less than you want.

What else is part of the Whole Circle Farm CSA membership?

  • Pick-your-own flower and veggie specials throughout the season
  • Farm newsletter (recipes, farm happenings and photos, food news, and more)
  • Seasonal celebrations especially for CSA members
  • An open invitation to come and visit the garden and farm animals
  • An open invitation to work in the garden for an hour or two (or more!) to experience firsthand the joy of helping things grow

What kinds of vegetables are included in a share box?

Produce selection varies with the season and the farmer’s discretion. Over the season, boxes include salad greens, Asian greens, onions, spinach, broccoli, peas, kohlrabi, carrots, kale, beets, garlic scapes, corn, potatoes, herbs, squash, cabbage, onions, garlic, parsnips, popcorn, beans, tomatoes, leeks, and cucumbers, to name just a few.
